Google Introduces Alternative Adsense Logos

Google seems to be introducing a new variant of their popular Adsense ads with a colored Google logo as oppossed to the Ads by Gooooogle text (examples above and below). Although no official announcement has been made the ads have started to appear sporadically. The first reports came from the Digital Point Forums.

The move goes against most of what Google has preached about blending as the logos will not follow the color scheme of the rest of the blog and will look more like, well, an ad. This is completely the opposite of the philosophy of most bloggers who feel blending ads to appear like content increases click through rate.

The change is going to be something to keep an eye on in the coming weeks to see whether it is here to stay, which ads it will be displayed on, how well they do or do not blend, and whether click through rate is affected by the change.
